Figure Friendly Fall Favorite Recipes

School is in session. Fall is here, though where I live it does not feel like it (it was 109 degrees the other day, really).

One thing you should know about me is that I have an addiction. It comes out every fall. To what? PUMPKIN!!!

I love all things pumpkin. Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pancakes. Pumpkin tea. Pumpkin cheesecake. Pumpkin muffins. In fact, the other day I invited a friend’s daughter to come over and we made cupcakes that tasted like a Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte! What a glorious day that was!

Since this is one of my favorite times of the year I thought I’d give you all a taste of some of my all time fall favorite blog posts from Fit Moms Fit Kids Club.

These are all recipes, because what’s better than yummy healthy comfort food?

Nothing!

Here are some of my favorite posts from autumns past.

I hope you try some of these! Let me know if you do.

Comment below which recipe(s) you want to try!

I know someone has asked me to make over cheesy baked potato soup, mac and cheese, quiche, mud pie, cheesecake, and my favorite red velvet cake. This challenge is off to a great start! My goal will be to make yummy healthier versions of these tasty foods. Join Me!

Fit Meals Monday

Hello Fit Moms!

Hopefully last week was a great week for you.  I had to get back into the swing of things after arriving back from Mississippi by car last Monday.  I didn’t realize how tired I’d be from sitting in the car 2 1/2 days!  Trying to get homeschool going again after the vacation and funeral were tough.  This week I feel like I’m at 100% and I’m ready to do things right.

It’s going to be an exciting week for the kids.  We have 2 field trips planned.  One to Calico Ghost Town, which I’ve never gone to before.  And, the other one will be to see a live performance of The Nutcracker!  My little ballerina will love that one.  She was one month shy (age wise) of being able to perform in her dance school’s performance, so I thought I’d surprise her with this treat.

Finally on Friday afternoon, I will be making my first appearance at a local school under the banner of Ready, Set, Gold! which is a program that partners Olympians and schools together.  My job is to help inspire and encourage the kids in the area of health and fitness.  In the short term I’ll encourage them to help them get better scores on their fitness tests.  In the long run, my goal is to help them choose to live healthier lifestyles for the rest of their lives.

If you are in the mood to WIN something you are in the right place. We have a Pokemon Prize Pack Giveaway going on right NOW!  IT ends tonight!  Tell your friends.  Also, this week we’ll have a new giveaway released on Tuesday.  So, come back for your chance to win!  December is my favorite month of the year, and to celebrate we will be giving away a Christmas Gift EVERY WEEK!  So, tell your friends to come by Fit Moms Fit Kids Club for their chance to win!  Better yet, subscribe so you won’t anything!

In case you are new here, every Monday here at Fit Moms Fit Kids Club I post my families meal plan for the week so that you can get some ideas for eating healthy.  So here you go!  Enjoy!  Let me know if you try any of the recipes.  They all have links!

Happy Halloween- Fit Meals Monday

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

2 Cute Black Cats

I wish I could tell you all that we will be sugar free today.  And, that I will eat perfectly healthy food all day.  Sorry, I can’t say that.  I don’t believe in deprivation, I believe in moderation.  On holidays I like to eat some yummy treats, and on Halloween I will definitely enjoy some. But, you better believe that I have a plan to eat super healthy and exercise the rest of the week.  I’m sorry I didn’t share my new fall fitness plan with you last week.  It’ll go up this week instead.

For those of you who are thinking, but Annett this is a fitness blog, how can you eat those yummy sweet treats?  Well I won’t eat a ton of them, but I will eat some of my favorites.  Here’s a link that gives you ideas of how to get rid of most of your Halloween candy so that you, and your kids won’t eat it all. It’s a MUST read. :)

For those of you who are new to the blog, welcome!  On Monday’s here we have what’s called Fit Meals Monday, which is our family’s meal plan for the week.  Feel free to use it, most of the meals have links to the recipes.  This week since we are trying to eat well to get rid of the Halloween junk, we are going to go delicious Vegetarian.  Enjoy!

What’s On Our Menu?

Monday– Halloween…. I’m not sure.  We may have a block party, we may have a private party?  Who knows. Most likely I’ll make my famous chili, it’s a tradition.  This is NOT healthy at all, I make it once a year.  It’s a multi-bean chili with turkey, chorizo, and bacon.  Once a year people, once a year.  :)

Tuesday– Halloween Detox begins! Tomato Basil Soup and Weight Watchers grilled apple cheese sandwiches

WednesdayMartha Stewart’s Big Batch Vegetable Soup

ThursdaySlow Stewed Cabbage with Vegan Sausage

FridayBlack Bean Burritos Stuffed with Veggies

Saturday– Leftover Buffet

SundayClean Eggplant Parmesan

What’s On Your Menu? Leave a comment about one of the meals you are excited about eating this week.
