Aerobie Pro Review

A couple of months ago a rep for the Aerobie flying ring asked me if we’d like to try it out and give one away to our readers.  I had never heard of the ring, but my husband had.  When I found out you can play catch with someone a football field away, well I said sure!

After our package arrived the first thing I did was show it to my kids.  They were extremely excited!  The first thing they wanted to do was take it outside to our cul-de-sac for a test run.  At first I thought to myself, if this thing really can go the length of a football field, playing in the front yard where our houses are close together, and trees every few feet probably isn’t a great idea.  But, I didn’t want to kill their enthusiasum.

Well, we went outside, and the first throw was awesome!  The Aerobie Pro went very far.  It glided through the air and was pretty cool to watch.  Next throw?  Stuck in the tree!  A ladder and about 10 minutes later the kids were back in business. But, this time we took the Aerobie to the park.

Our park has a HUGE open field with soccer fields and baseball fields back to back to back.  Plenty of open space to let the Aerobie pro rip.  At the park the kids spread out about 1/2 the length of a football field and threw it like they would a regular frisbee.  Well the Aerobie is NOT an ordinary old frisbee, it’s a flying disc that broke the world record for farthest throw.  The Guinness World Record for the farthest throw thrown with the Aerobie was 1,333 feet / 406 meters!!!

My kids and I didn’t throw as far as the world record, but boy did we get some extremely far throws!  It really made exercising FUN!  In fact, you don’t even feel like you are exercising when you are playing with the Aerobie. You run back and forth trying to catch the Aerobie and can easily, like we did, spend an hour running around playing catch!  You and your kids will be amazed at how far it flies!  If you are looking for a fun way to secretly workout yourself get one!  Keep in mind that it’s also a great kids workout.  I highly recommend you get an Aerobie Pro Ring!

To find out more about the Aerobie Pro and all of the other Aerobie products, visit www.aerobie.com.  The Aerobie retails for about $10 and is recommended for ages 12 and up (though my 6 year old played with this just fine).  They also carry a smaller version called the Sprint ring, which is recommended for ages 7 & up.
