People who know me know that I’m pretty calm and collected. Even at a party I’m usually holding up the wall. But, when it comes to a blog party, well I jump up and down like a little girl.
What’s a Blog Party??

In a Blog Party you link up to a main site in this case 5minutesformom.com, and we roam around visiting other blogs, meeting other folks like at a big party! The party happens once a year. For those of you who hopped on over from the party, WELCOME! My name is Annett Davis, I’m the founder of this virtual club. I started Fit Moms Fit Kids Club about a year ago after realizing that even though I’m a pro athlete (an Olympian in Beach Volleyball) in my off season I lived like the obese. My dad died a few years ago due to a heart attack, influenced by poor eating and poor exercise habits. My dad was a former pro basketball player in the NBA. I realized if he could lose his way, and not eat right and not exercise, and develop type 2 diabetes and become overweight when I stop playing I could too! I decided that I wanted to be there for my kids (and God willing my grandkids in the future). I decided that I had to change my habits so that I could change my life! This blog not only chronicles my journey, as I share the good, the bad and the ugly about my new & old habits, but I also try to give you info on how to help you change your habits as well.
This is not a club just for the “already fit” mom. (though you can be one, and we have tons of them here) But, you don’t have to be stick thin to read this blog, you don’t have to be a certain age and have little kids, this site is for ALL MOMS. Here’s a little info written up about our site from super model Gabby Reece’s site recently.
I certainly have NOT “arrived”. Everyday is a struggle, and I have to make decisions daily to live a healthy lifestyle. I LOVE fried foods, fatty foods, sweet foods, salty food, pretty much every food created I LOVE. This love of food gets me in trouble if I let it. Let me let you in on another secret… I HATE to exercise. But, I do it anyway, because I have to for my health, for my life, for my family.
Speaking of family!!! I have a brilliant, handsome, sweet, and funny 9 year old son named Mya. I also have a pretty princess, who loves to sing and dance named Victoria. An interesting fact is that my volleyball partner and I sort of planned our pregnancies around Olympic qualifications periods. Thankfully it worked out perfectly! I’ve been married 14 years to the best man alive named Byron (he blogs over at www.onlinecoachingprofits.com and www.dreamofdestiny.com)
If you struggle, if you aren’t perfect, if you hate to exercise like me…Or, even if you are like one of our bloggers named Michelle who loves to work out and are totally ripped like her…YOU belong here. Join us. We don’t beat you over the head when you eat a slice of cake. Heck I LOVE cake. You can share your favorite recipe with me. (I’m not joking, share your recipe!) If you eat meat, great, I do too. If you hate meat…guess what? I love veggies too! We are pretty relaxed around here. This is a site where there is NO judgment. We all make mistakes (I had 2 helpings of dump cake today…did I just admit that? Don’t judge me!) We all have our ups and downs. The posts you’ll find here are to give you some good info so that you can decide what to do with it. Some of the info you’ll use. Other stuff you won’t.
Will you offend me if you don’t use what our writers recommend? NOPE.

FYI I do not write all of the posts here. I still after 14 years am still playing professional beach volleyball, I have 2 children that I homeschool, I’m a pastors wife and a business owner. I don’t have time to blog daily, but I personally write 2-3 times a week. For the other days I have a team that helps me out. These ladies are top notch! Professional trainers, motivational speakers, authors, professional organizers, and real life moms. Check them out if you have some time. They write on different topics.
